Privacy Policy
This policy covers what happens to the name, phone, email, town and project details you send New Home Builder Portland through the estimate quiz or the contact form. We use them to answer you, walk your land, price and build your house, and they are never sold or rented.
The consent box lets us follow up by phone, text or email, and a STOP reply ends our texts. No analytics or ad tracking runs on these pages, and a note to [email protected] gets you a copy, a correction or a deletion of your details.
Effective October 28, 2026. Last updated October 28, 2026.
This page follows your details from the moment you send them to New Home Builder Portland through this website. Below you will find what we gather and the reasons, the outside services involved, and the requests you can make of us.
Who We Are
New Home Builder Portland is a Legacy Construction company building new custom homes in Portland, Maine, and in 21 towns nearby. Our office is on Main Street in Gorham, and this website is newhomebuilderportland.com.
What Our Forms Collect
Your answers stay on your own device until you submit the quiz or the contact form at its last step. A form abandoned partway sends us nothing, and neither one keeps your answers in your browser.
- Contact information: a full name, a phone number and an email address.
- Your project: the town; on the quiz, whether you own land, are still looking for land or plan to replace an old house, plus any notes; on the contact form, a project type, a budget and your message.
- Details of the submission: the time it arrived, the page it came from and whether the consent box was ticked.
What you tell us by phone, at a first meeting or on a walk of your land is added to the same record. If you go on to build with us, that record also holds your plans, the fixed price, the signed contract, change orders and invoices.
Apart from the forms, our web host keeps routine logs of page requests. A log line shows the IP address that asked, the browser used and the page requested.
How We Use What You Send
Your details serve three purposes for us, and we use them for nothing beyond these:
- to answer you and arrange a first meeting or a walk of your property
- to draw plans and set a fixed price, and after you hire us, to build and bill for the house
- to keep you informed by phone, text or email, as far as your consent on the form allows
Your personal information is not for sale, rent or trade, to anyone. We also do not use it to market anything other than the house you asked us about.
Who Else Handles Your Details
Your information passes through a few outside services, and one related company, while you read these pages, call our number or submit a form.
- Legacy Construction, the company New Home Builder Portland belongs to, whose people plan, price and build the houses we contract for.
- Our customer-management system, where every form lands and where our team keeps call logs and project notes.
- Our phone system and email providers, which carry calls, texts and messages between you and us, with call notes saved to your record.
These pages are served by Cloudflare, which also holds the request logs mentioned earlier and passes along email addressed to us. The town maps load their map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address when they load.
Our contact page shows a Google map of the office and a directions link. Whatever you do inside that map is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Information may have to be handed over when the law demands it, by subpoena, court order or otherwise. We may also release it when a person's safety or our legal rights depend on it.
The Consent Box
Both forms carry a single consent box that starts out empty, and a request cannot go through until you tick it. On the quiz, the full wording opens from a short linked line next to the box; on the contact form it is printed beside the box in full.
With the box ticked, New Home Builder Portland, our staff and our assistants may call, text or email you to check the request and what you entered, whether or not your number appears on a Do-Not-Call list. Follow-up about the request falls under the same permission, automated calls and texts among it, and giving it is never required to buy from us.
Under the same wording, browsing parts of our site that concern real estate agents, contractors, builders or home service providers passes that permission to them as well. Anyone who prefers not to agree online can phone the number in our site footer and make the request by voice instead.
Texts and Calls
Our texts are about your estimate request or your build, such as setting a time to walk the lot or a weekly progress note. Message and data rates may apply, and the number of texts depends on the project.
- Send STOP and our texts end, with a single reply to confirm it.
- Send HELP for assistance, or email [email protected].
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party.
To stop phone calls too, tell us on any call or send an email. Your number then comes off our call list.
The AI Receptionist on Our Line
An AI receptionist may answer a call to our number before any person does, and it says what it is at the outset. It notes who you are, how to call you back and what you describe about the land or the house, and a brief summary of the call is added to your file.
Tracking, Analytics and Cookies
We run no analytics, place no advertising pixels and set no tracking cookies on this site. Our pages store nothing in your browser, and the quiz and the contact form both work with cookies blocked.
Google and OpenStreetMap, the map services named earlier, may set cookies under their own rules. Your browser settings let you refuse or delete cookies at any time.
How Long We Keep Records
We hold a request for as long as the conversation about your house is still going. Once we build a house, its file stays with us at least through the workmanship warranty, and longer if tax rules, the contract or another law require it.
Keeping Your Details Safe
Only the services listed here and the people on our side who need your details for your project can reach them. Online systems can never be made completely safe, and we make no promise that ours is.
Should a breach ever involve your personal information, we will tell you in the way Maine's breach notice law requires.
Your Copy, Corrections and Deletion
You can ask us for any of the following:
- a copy of the information on file about you
- a correction wherever a detail is wrong or outdated
- deletion of your details, save for records a signed contract or Maine law makes us retain
Send the request to [email protected], or phone the number listed on our contact page. Before acting on it, we may check that the request really comes from you.
Children
This website is written for adults planning a new house and is not aimed at children. Details sent to us by anyone under 18 are deleted as soon as we find out.
Sites We Link To
Our pages cite public sources, among them town code offices, Maine's statutes, state agencies such as the Department of Environmental Protection and the Attorney General, and FEMA's flood maps. Their privacy practices fall under their own policies, not this page.
Changes to This Policy
This policy is revised whenever our handling of information, or the law behind it, changes. The version in force is the one dated at the top.
Privacy Questions
Send privacy questions to [email protected], or use our contact page, which lists our phone number.
